Fraunhofer material research covers the entire chain, from the development and improvement of materials to manufacturing technology and characterization of the properties through to assessing their behavior in use. The same applies accordingly to the components made from the materials and their behavior in systems. Apart from the experimental tests, the methods of numerical simulation and modelling are used on a par with the tests.
